Lotus in the Mud: A Mindfulness Meditation w/ Kim Lange

Lotus in the Mud: A Mindfulness Meditation with Kim Lange

In the quiet depths of muddy water, the lotus takes root — unseen, untouched by the muck it grows through, yet nourished by it. Our lives are no different. The heartbreaks, failures, losses, and shadows we’d rather avoid often hold the seeds of resilience, wisdom, and unexpected beauty.

This class invites you to explore those tender, messy places with gentleness and curiosity. We’ll begin with a short Dharma talk, followed by walking meditation to help us embody presence as we move, guided meditation, and a small-group breakout discussion for honest sharing and collective insight.

Whether you’re new to mindfulness or a long-time practitioner, this session offers a supportive space to pause, breathe, and honor the ways your own “mud” has shaped you. Come as you are — nothing to fix, nothing to prove — only the courage to sit with what’s real and let the lotus rise.

The evening will include:

  • A guided mindfulness meditation practice to help anchor attention, open awareness, and build resilience in the face of discomfort

  • A Dharma talk exploring the transformational power of meeting difficulty with mindfulness, drawing on Buddhist teachings and modern psychological insights

  • Q&A and open discussion, offering space for real-time questions, clarifications, and collective learning

  • Small group breakout circles for shared reflection, support, and connection in community

This session is open to all levels of meditation experience. Whether you’re brand new to the practice or a long-time practitioner, you’re invited to come exactly as you are. No fixing, no striving—just a willingness to meet life more honestly.

Together, we’ll create a supportive container to explore the messy places with compassion and love.

Come join us in this sacred inquiry.
